GASTHAUS: got 'kraut?

Louisville's ONLY German Restaurant

Dear Guests and Friends of the Gasthaus

We very much regret that after 29 years we have decided to close the restaurant. It’s been an honor to bring our little bit of Germany to Louisville, by serving our home cooked meals to you and your families.

We have enjoyed the many memories over the years and would like to thank our guests and our hardworking staff for this blessing.

Annemarie and Michael Greipel are taking an “early” retirement, but hope that someone with the enthusiasm and love for the German culture will step in and take over the Gasthaus.

Sincerely,
The Greipel family

  6. Es ist wirklich unbegreiflich, daß Sie jetzt schließt. Wirklich schade. Hoffentlich kann jemand andern ein Deutsche Restaurant wieder offen. Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute zum Ruhestand!!!

  8. This is very sad news. I love this restaurant and I tell any and everyone about it. I’ve eaten every birthday dinner here since I was 12 and I turn 28 this year. I even tell people if I had one last meal it would be the chicken cordon bleu with spatzle and lemon roll desert.

  10. My husband and I are so saddened by the news. We are happy for you. You’ve put a lot of hard work into your business. We happen to be in Germany now and we see where your work ethic comes from. It’s impeccable here. We will certainly miss your wonderful meals and visits we sometimes had. Relax now and enjoy life. Take care.
