You are probably wondering why we would post a picture of the kitchen bell and a piece of wood with a nail?
Well, today, December 18, 2011 is the Gasthaus’ 18th birthday! Hard to believe that 18 years ago we opened the doors to fans of German food. So much has happened in these 18 years. Many staff members have come and gone. Thankfully, we have had loyal and hard-working people.
The bell has been replaced several times, but the piece of wood with nail is still the original piece, as old as the Gasthaus itself. The wood is actually a remnant from the renovations we did to the Gasthaus before we opened. We stuck a nail in it and – voilà – we have a place to stick our orders.
So, in 18 years you could say we rang that bell thousands of times, and stuck even more hand-written orders to the tack. Eighteen years of serving delicious food and providing friendly service.
We would like to thank all of our guests for 18 years of loyal patronage!
