Ms Wheelchair Kentucky visits the Gasthaus
On Saturday we had the pleasure of serving Jaime Blanton, Ms Wheelchair Kentucky. Jaime hopes to empower people with disabilities to contribute to their communities by raising awareness about the issues facing those with mobility challenges, namely in the areas of educational quality, employment opportunities and housing equity. She believes the key to creating truly inclusive environments foster positive relationships with one another, and work together to embrace diversity and ability.
Jamie is no stranger to advocating on behalf of people with disabilities. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 1, Jamie has never let her disability stop her from accomplishing great things. She is a wife, mother and master’s student at the University of Louisville.
Join her on April 11, 2008 for a The Bluegrass Bash, a dinner reception, silent auction and raffle that will showcase the Unique Products, Services & Entertainment of the Commonwealth. The Gasthaus has donated a gift certificate. The event will be held at:
The Galleria Room Collins Auto Group 4220 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218
The event is open to the public and donations are accepted at the door. RSVP is encouraged, call Jaime at 502-759-5665 or email mswheelky08@yahoo.com
She will represent Kentucky in the Ms Wheelchair America 2009 Contest in July 21-27 in Bethesda, Maryland.
The Gasthaus wishes her good luck.
